Where should I place my sensors?

Place SmartSensors up to 60 feet from your smart thermostat in important rooms like bedrooms and nurseries, and areas with hot or cold spots.

How many sensors do I need?

Since every home is unique it really depends on your personal preference. ecobee thermostats can accommodate up to 32 sensors.

What about my pets?

Pets can wander freely around the SmartSensor and stay comfortable without affecting an occupancy reading.

Reassurance at home and away

With ecobee Haven, SmartSensor sends alerts and notifications when doors and windows are opened or closed and its motion and occupancy sensor alerts you to in-home activity detected when you’re away.

While you’re home, the contact sensor continues to monitor your entranceways, but the motion and occupancy sensor turns off to avoid sending unnecessary notifications.
